Mountain outing video & photos

As the last activity planned for 2010, the students went to the Pyrenean mountains to mush with sled dogs on 10th December. First they discovered the diverse breeds (Siberian Huskies, Greenland dog, Alaskan Malamute) and the way to give orders to the dogs. Just 8 miles and 500 ft of climbing in total and the students went on at the station of Peyragudes during the afternoon for a snow shoes walk where some of them saw the snow for the first time!

Mountain outing

Before the end of the semester, we plan a one-day trip to the mountain this Friday on 10th December. During the day, you can discover the Pyrenean mountains with dogs-sled!!

Thanks to a professional, you’ll learn the ways of the musher and practice after the initiation. Have a look on http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/iditarod-a-mushers-life.html to have a better idea of what is expecting you.

For 23€ you’ll have the rent of the snowshoes, the cost of the car-sharing, and the price of dog-sledding. For those who don’t have right shoes to go to the mountain, you can have a pair with a 7€ extra.

Funfair & castle photos

Here are the pictures of the party at the funfair in Place Verdun. After testing different roller coasters, our thrill-seekers preferred to finish with a flourish in the “Take Off” ride! To get a grip on ourselves, we went to the castle to be at a festive lights show to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henri IV’s assassination. The living al frescoes, the music and the set plunged us into the atmosphere of the Renaissance! The party ended over a meal at the O’Miams snack.

Students abroad

On the occasion of the departure abroad of the student promotion 2009/2012, some of them volunteered to keep a diary during their stay.

In six-month internship, they will share their experience and anecdotes on this web page which is dedicated to them (category Students abroad). Whether it is about their mission, the local culture, the tourism, the accommodation or even the distance with their family, they will give you precious tips if you wish to go later in one of their country.

If it is the curiosity which brought to you on this page, welcome ^o^ because we also like to know what happens to them as far from Pau!

I hope their feelings will also make you want to go abroad.

See you soon!
